The book is a comprehensive essay on the Arctic and the Antarctic with several photographs and maps to support it at each point. This book would be an eye - opener on these two lesser known regions. There are several pertinent issues and information that the author had the opportunity of gathering and repriducing in this book.It reminisces about the author's unbridled enthusiasm to travel poles apart within a span of 49 days and the wonderful time spent by her in such pristine, virgin lands. The book aims to be a lucid guide to those who desire to look beyond the horizon! The Hindu(April 19,2005) by G. Ananthakrishnan - The book makes interesting reading as a travelogue, while the photography is a colourful commemoration of some unique landscapes and wildlife that usually grace the pages of venerable journals of geographic societies. Hers is a travelogue enlivened by the freshness of youthful spirit, a casual anecdotal style and a geographical range that spans the far corners of the globe.Society magazine - The book contains vivid details with photographs and maps of the two regions. The book is a good travel guide for those planning their travel to the poles. As for those not inclined to do so, the ice pictures will definitely help beat the heat' this summer.
