What is Rediffmail Pro?
Rediffmail Pro is the personalized Email Service that is totally unique, made just for you.
With Rediffmail Pro, you can get a personalized email address (such as me@myfamily.com, sandeep@kohlis.com). You can easily set up multiple email addresses for members of your family/group (such as alokabhaiya@kohlis.com or rajeshmama@kohlis.com).
No one will ever forget your email address now, because Rediffmail Pro gives you the email name of your choice, making it memorable.
With Rediffmail Pro, you can access your email Account from your own PC as well as from any Internet-enabled PC. All you have to do is log into your Account with your Username and Password.
You also own the domain name you select (www.myfamily.com, www.thekohlis.com). You can build your free personal website through the easy-to-use Rediff Homepages, or you can point your domain to any other destination on the web.

How do I send and receive mails from my Rediffmail Pro Account?
We activate your Rediffmail Pro Account as soon as we receive your payment.
Once your Account is activated, we will send your Rediffmail Pro Username and Password to your current email address. You can visit http://www.rediffmailpro.com and log in with your Username and Password.
Once you are logged into your Rediffmail Pro Account, you can send and receive mails just like you would from any other email account.

How many email addresses can I get?
With Rediffmail Pro you get 5 email addresses as part of the basic package, for $ 19.99 per year.
However, you can buy as many email addresses as you need. You can purchase addresses in increments of 5. You pay $ 10 per year for every 5 additional email addresses.

How do I use the 5 email Addresses I get for $ 19.99?
At the time of placing your order, you specify the first of the 5 email addresses (e.g. me@myfamily.com).
To use the balance 4 email addresses, you need to first log into your Rediffmail Pro Account.
After you have logged in, click on 'Preferences' link and then click on 'Allocate/ Delete Email Addresses'.

I created an email address for one of my family members; now I wish to allocate it to someone else, can I change the email address?
Yes, you can. Except for the first of your 5 email addresses, you can delete and re-allocate any email address created by you.
If the email address you specified when you placed your order for Rediffmail Pro was me@myfamily.com, that email address cannot be deleted. However, you can always delete and re-allocate the balance 4 email addresses.
So, if you have one email address that is alokabhaiya@kohlis.com and you now want to change this email address, all you need to do is to delete alokabhaiya@kohlis.com.
After deleting it, you can re-allocate this email address by creating an email address like rajeshmama@kohlis.com.

How much storage space do I get? Can I buy more storage space?
The basic Rediffmail Pro package offers 30 MB of storage space (as part of the $ 19.99 per year).
This 30 MB is divided between the 5 email addresses you can allocate. Each individual address gets 6 MB of space.
You can purchase additional storage at any point of time. You can buy additional storage in multiples of 5 MB (5 MB, 10 MB, 15 MB and so on). For every 5 MB, you pay only $ 2 per year.

What is the maximum size of the of attachments I can send with Rediffmail Pro?
With Rediffmail Pro you can send attachments that are upto 5MB is size.

What are the different payment options available?
Rediffmail Pro offers the following payment options.
1. Credit Card
The credit cards accepted by Rediff are MasterCard, Visa, Diners Card and American Express.
2. Cheque/ Demand Draft
You can send your Cheque/ Demand Draft drawn in favour of "Rediff.com India Limited" to the following address -

Do I get POP3 facility with my email account?
Yes, we provide POP3 facility with your email account. The instructions for setting up POP3 is given below.
In order to use an email client to send and receive messages through Rediffmail Pro, you must designate a new incoming (POP) mail server and a new outgoing (SMTP) mail server.
Here are the basic server settings for Rediffmail Pro
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: pop.rediffmailpro.com
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.rediffmailpro.com
Email address: Your Rediffmail Pro Email Address
Password: Your Rediffmail Pro Password

Outlook Express
Outlook Express allows you to add a new email account to your existing profile. This means you do not have to replace your current settings in order to send and receive Rediffmail Pro messages.
- From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
- Select the "Mail" tab.
- Click the "Add" button.
- From the Add menu, click "Mail."
- In the text box labeled Display Name, type your name and click "Next."
- In the Email Address box, type your Rediffmail Pro address.
- Select "POP3" to answer the question "My incoming mail server is a…."
- In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server box, type "pop.rediffmailpro.com"
- In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type "smtp.rediffmailpro.com"
- Click "Next."
- In the Account Name box, type your Rediffmail Pro address
- In the Password box, type your Rediffmail Pro Password.
- If you want Outlook Express to remember your password, check the "Remember password" box.
- Do not check the boxes labeled "Log on using Secure..."
- Click "Next."
- Click "Finish."
Netscape Messenger
- From the Edit menu on the toolbar, select "Preferences."
- Under the Mail & Newsgroups category on the left, select "Mail Servers."
- Click "Add" to display the Mail Server Properties dialog box.
- In the Server name box, type "pop.rediffmailpro.com."
- Under Server Type, click the pull-down list and select "POP3 Server."
- Under User Name, type your Rediffmail Pro address.
Important: Please use a '+' sign instead of the '@' in the address. - Check "Remember password" so you don't have to re-enter your password each time you start Messenger. You'll be prompted for your password initially.
- Select the "POP" tab and check the box labeled "Leave messages on server."
- Click "OK."
- In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type "smtp.rediffmailpro.com"
- In the Outgoing mail server user name box, type your Rediffmail Pro address.
Important: Please use a '+' sign instead of the '@' in the address. - Click "OK."
- Under the Mail & Newsgroups category on the left, select "Identity."
- In the Email Address box, type your Rediffmail Pro address
- Click "OK."
Eudora
- Click on the Tools Menu and select "Personalities."
- Right click in the "Personalities" box (on the left of the screen) and select "New."
- The New Account Wizard will take you through the set-up.
- Use the following settings:
- Personality Name: Enter your name
- Account Settings: Select "Create a new account."
- Personal Information: Enter your name.
- Email Address: Enter your Rediffmail Pro address.
- Login Name: Enter your Rediffmail Pro address again.
- Incoming Email Server: Type "pop.rediffmailpro.com"; (make sure that POP is selected at the bottom.)
- Outgoing Email Server: Type "smtp.rediffmailpro.com"
- Check the box next to "Allow authentication."
- Click the "Finish" button when you are done.
Do I get Virus protection for my mails?
The inbuilt virus scanner scans every attachment in your mailbox for known viruses, uncovering any virus threat and cleaning up infected attachments.

Can I filter the messages in my Inbox?
You have the option of pre-defining your mailbox, where all the mails containing a particular word or line will be automatically sent to a folder. This way, your inbox will remain uncluttered. Thus you can manage your e-mails better.
Can I build a web site on my personal Domain?
With Rediffmail Pro you also own the domain name you select (such as www.myfamily.com). After you select your domain name (such as www.myfamily.com), you own it, no one else can get it.
You can point your domain to any destination on the web hosted by another provider or create your free personal website through the easy-to-use Rediff Homepages.
Anybody who types your new web address into a browser will be instantly redirected to your personal website.
Do I own the Domain name?
After you select your web address (such as www.thekohlis.com), Rediffmail Pro registers it for you. You own it, no one else can get it, and you get to create additional email accounts as your requirement grows (the first five accounts are included, additional accounts cost extra).
Do I have to register separately for the Domain name?
No, you don't have to register separately for it. You get the domain name (web address) you select (such as www.myfamily.com) with Rediffmail Pro at just $ 19.99.
