Using Your Account

  • Create a new account
    • To create a new Rediff Shopping Account, click on the Sign up link found on the top right corner of Rediff Shopping homepage
    • Fill in your personal details along with the email ID you wish to use as your Rediff Shopping ID
    • You can use your Rediffmail ID or use any other email ID from any other email service provider to register with us and place an order through Rediff Shopping
    • The email ID you provide will become your Rediff Shopping ID

    • Search for Products

    • To search for a product of your choice, just enter the name of the product or category in the search text box present on the top of Rediff Shopping Homepage and click on Search.
    • The page that will follow will give you the desired results along with a choice to sort in ascending or descending order as per the price range.

    • Once you click on any product that interests you, a detailed product page will appear for you to view the complete product information. If you plan to buy that product, you can click on Add to Cart button on the product page and proceed to buy the same.

    • Total shipping cost for products worth less than Rs 300 is Rs 50
    • Total shipping cost for products worth from Rs 300 . Rs 499 is Rs 60

    • Total shipping cost for products worth Rs 1000 and more is Rs 99
    • For products bought using cash on delivery (COD) as a payment option there is an additional shipping charge of Rs 25 for metro cities and Rs 50 for non-metro cities

  • Can I cancel my order? How to cancel my order?
    • Yes, you can cancel your order; provided the product has not yet been shipped to you by the seller or the product is not listed under special Events & Promotions (Rakhi, Diwali, Valentine etc.) and Express Delivery.

  • Order status terms
    • There are various statuses that determine the stage of the order. The status as would be visible for your order is as below:
      Order Registration > Order Approval > Order Dispatch > Order Delivery

    • Registered - You need to follow 3 easy steps to place your order. Step 1: Sign in to your shopping account; Step 2: Update shipping and/ or delivery address; Step 3: Complete your payment details. On successful registration of your order with us, you will see the order details (Order number) on the very next page
    • Approved - Time taken for order approval depends on the mode of payment. E.g. Credit card or debit card orders are approved instantly while cheque / DD orders are approved only after the receipt of the payment i.e post cheque clearance.
    • Credit card/ Debit card/ Net banking - Order gets approved once the payment is realized against your order number, till then the order status shown would be .Awaiting bank approval.
    • Cheque/DD - Order gets approved once your payment is realized against your order number post clearance of cheque/ DD received by us. You can opt for arranging for cheque pick up. The order status here will be .Awaiting Cheque/DD.
    • COD - For orders chosen under cash on delivery option, certain situations require a confirmation of the order from the shopper. This is done by calling, so please confirm your order on call. Post your confirmation; your order will be approved. Until then the order status will read .COD confirmation required.
    • Declined - The payment has not been cleared by the bank and the order will not be processed further
    • Cancelled - Post registering an order, the shopper requests for order cancellation and once the order is cancelled, order status will read as .cancelled.
    • Dispatched - Order is dispatched by the vendor on shipping address provided by you. You can check your email for more details of the dispatch details to track your order
    • Delivered - Your order is delivered on the shipping address provided by you.
    • At any given point, if an order is in any of the above status, the same is communicated to the shopper via email and SMS. You can also Track Your Order by sending an SMS, Track <order number=""> to 57333

  • What is an order status?
  • How will I know if my order is approved?
    • On receiving the payment for the value of your order, an email will be sent to your ID informing you on the approval of the order
    • For orders placed via net banking payment option, Order approval takes at least 24 - 48 hours to approve the order. For security reasons we work on the basis of the communication from the bank intimating us on the status of the payment
    • If the payment is declined (credit cards & net banking), you will be informed of the same via email as well
    • By payment declined, it is meant that the bank has not cleared the transaction due to which the order is declined. For further information, you are requested to contact your bank

  • How do I get a receipt for my order?
    • An invoice for the payment of your order value is sent by the vendor to you along with your order i.e the product, which you will receive along with your order delivery.

    • At the time of registration of your order, the payment page will display the total product price and the shipping charges as applicable. This is the amount that is due to be paid by you.

    Delivery service delays

  • The order has still not reached me. Whom do I contact for help?
    • The number of days required for delivery for every product is mentioned at the bottom of the product page.
    • Delivery is not attempted on Sundays and public holidays
    • In case there is no courier service to the address mentioned in the order, the order will be cancelled and the same will be intimated to you by email.
    • The courier details of your order will be sent via email and SMS

  • Tracking says delivered but I have still not received my order
  • My order has already been registered? Why is there a delay in receiving it?
    • Once your order is registered, your order will be scheduled for delivery depending on its payment receipt status.
    • For users who have chosen a 'Cheque' payment option, the order will be processed only after your cheque has been realized. For users who have chosen a 'Demand Draft' payment option, your order will be processed only after we have received your Demand Draft. For users who have chosen .Cash-On-Delivery' payment option, products will be delivered only in India to selected 250 cities and is not valid for international destinations.
    • For users who have chosen .net banking. payment option, we require up to 48 hours to approve the order and this is dependent on how soon your bank communicates payment confirmation.
    • Your order may not be dispatched if the order is not approved. Some reasons are stated below:
      -> Order is of high value and verification details are required.
      -> Payment is not received or cleared from the bank.
      -> Payment details have not been successfully entered in the system.

  • How do I know about my courier status?
    • The courier status is sent via email and SMS. There are various stages to the position of the consignment. The status as would be visible is as below:

    • Pending - The product is still not dispatched by the vendor and will be handed over to courier within the mentioned lead-time of delivery.
    • Dispatched - The consignment has been handed over to the courier service by vendor.
    • In Transit - The consignment is on route to the delivery destination.
    • Delivered - The consignment is delivered and accepted with a signature or company stamp.
    • Returned to Origin - Delivery had been attempted by the vendor, however due to reasons mentioned below; the consignment is returned back to the vendor.

      -> Consignment refused by the shopper
      -> Door closed
      -> Address and telephone number incorrect

  • How do I find courier contact details?
    • Once the vendor dispatches the product, the status is updated on the site along with the courier name and the AWB number.
    • You can track the status of your order online.

  • Can I pick up the order paying by cash at Rediff.com office?
    • Rediff Shopping is an online shopping platform wherein third party vendor's products are displayed and payment is done online itself.

  • Can I get the delivery at a specific time?
    • Mid night delivery is the only option where you can specify the time (12 am on specified date) under express delivery.

    • Rediff.com provides pick up option in case you have received defective product and you wish to replace it. For this, you need to contact the customer support within 48 hrs from the time of delivery of the product.

  • International Deliveries (USA and UK)
    • We accept international orders only for events like Rakhi, valentine's day etc. Option of international delivery is mentioned on the product page if available.
    • International delivery option is available only for US and UK.
    • Currency would be in $ or pound respectively for US and UK, for orders placed from outside India.
    • Mode of payment available is only Online payment via Credit card

    • If you are unable to view COD option at the payment page, then we do not have COD service for that particular city and you are requested to change the delivery address or opt for a different payment option

  • About Rediff.com Gift Voucher
    • How do I redeem a Rediff.com Gift Voucher?

    • A Rediff Gift Voucher is to be redeemed online on Rediff Shopping only.
    • The voucher is to be used as a mode of payment at the time of making a purchase.
    • The gift code is to be inserted in the box provided at the payment option page.
    • The system shall update with the balance on the voucher
    • The voucher needs to be redeemed before its expiry date.
    • If the voucher is expired, the amount is forfeited and cannot be regenerated.
    • What if my Rediff.com Gift Voucher amount is more / less than the order value?

    • If the gift voucher amount is more than the order value, then the balance amount is carried forward in the voucher.
    • The balance needs to be redeemed before the expiry of the voucher.
    • If the gift voucher amount is less than the order value, then the balance amount is to be paid via any other prepaid mode of payment.
    • The available alternate prepaid modes of payment are credit cards, debit card, netbanking and cheques.
    • What if my order placed via Rediff.com gift voucher is refunded, how do I get the money back?

    • If an order is refunded, the value is reversed to the gift voucher.
    • The voucher may be redeemed again for a new purchase.
    • If an order is placed via gift voucher and partly another prepaid mode, the value is first refunded to the prepaid mode and balance to the gift voucher.

  • Return & Refund Policy
    • If you wish to change, modify or cancel your order, it can be done provided the product has not yet been shipped to you by the seller. To find out the shipping status, drop in a mail at shopsupport@rediff.co.in or simply log on to shopping.rediff.com. You will need to provide your name, email and order ID for registering your request.
    • In the rare case of you receiving a defective, damaged, or a not-as-described product by the seller
      You must call or drop in a mail within 2 days from delivery of your product so we can help resolve the problem either by arranging for replacement or refund by the seller. To register your complaint, you need to provide your name, email ID, land line or mobile number and order ID.
      You will need to return the unused product along with its original packaging with all the items included with the product within 7 days of registering your complaint.
    • The following products shall not be eligible for return:
      Flowers, chocolates, cakes, mithai, dry fruits, vegetables, food items, perishable items, lingerie, or innerwear. We advise you not to accept delivery of such products that are damaged or not-as-described by the seller. In case of you receiving spoiled edible products you must call or drop in a mail within 2 days on receipt of your product so we can help resolve the problem. Products that do not apply to any warranty and/or return policy will be made specific in the product details section.
    • For all products cancelled and/or returned, you will be given a credit for the same amount you have already paid. A refund is processed based on the mode of payment. Credit card refunds are done back to the credit card itself and will feature in the following monthly billing statement. Net banking refunds are done to the bank account you made the payment from. For Cash on delivery, Cheques and Demand Drafts, refunds are done in the form of pay orders, which will be delivered to the billing address.
